McGill’s Supports Local Care Home with Annual Day Trip
McGill’s were delighted to support Larkfield View Care Home’s Annual Day Away to Largs by providing free coach transport for residents.
This year’s trip, which is the first since 2019, gave 120 residents and their families a summer day out to the seaside town for some sun, sea and of course fish and chips. Care home staff raised £1775 at the Bishopton Gala Day to provide residents with transport, food and entertainment.
McGill’s stepped in and donated two accessible coaches in order for transport costs to be used for other purposes.
Elsie MacLennan, Manager at Larkfield View, said: “McGill’s were so quick to respond when they heard about the day we had planned for everyone and got in touch offering two 50 seater coaches with easy access for our residents.
“They were so attentive throughout the planning process and the two drivers were so helpful and made the day special, even tolerating the bad singers on the bus.
“The donation of the two coaches enabled us to provide everyone with extra treats, which made our great day fantastic.”
Alex Hornby, Group Managing Director at McGill’s, added: “We were delighted to be able to help out Larkfield View Care Home, which is a stone’s throw from our head office in Greenock. The trip to Largs was a success and it sounds like residents had a great day out enjoying the scenic views from our coaches on their way.
“We’re proud to be able to support our local communities and help where we can.”
